Program Overview

NCLAM brings together a group of junior faculty for a seven-month program that includes faculty development workshops, a junior/senior mentoring relationship based on a professional development contract, academic strategic career planning, and individual academic performance counseling sessions. The program emphasizes an understanding of the UCSD Health Sciences educational mission as well as the research and clinical practice environment.

Program Administration

The UCSD NCLAM program is overseen by Directors Vivian Reznik, M.D., MPH and Deborah Wingard, Ph.D. In addition, the Leadership Council, comprised of Health Sciences senior faculty members, aids in gaining institutional acceptance.

Program Funding

Funding is provided through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences and the Comprehensive Research Center in Health Disparities .
