Is NCLAM right for you?NCLAM is a unique UCSD faculty development program created to support junior Health Sciences faculty through the initial years of adjustment after they choose academic careers. The requirements for participation are:
NCLAM begins with sixteen Friday morning sessions covering topics ranging from UCSD expectations for academic promotion, to skill development in teaching and research, to professional development and leadership training. During the second part of the program, each participant chooses a focused faculty development project and works with a specially matched senior mentor. The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences provides funding to reimburse each junior faculty member's department for his or her time during the seven month program.
